Prof. Zheng Hong (George) Zhu

Experience: Dr. Zheng Hong (George) Zhu is Professor and Tier I York Research Chair in Space Technology in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, inaugural Academic Director of Research Commons in the Office of Vice-President Research & Innovation at York University. He received his BEng, MEng, PhD degrees in Applied Mechanics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China, MASc degree in Robotics from University of Waterloo and PhD degree in Mechanical Engineer from University of Toronto in Canada. From 1995-2006, he was senior stress/structural engineering at Indal Technologies Curtiss-Wright. He joined York University in 2006. Dr. Zhu has led multimillion dollar interdisciplinary research programs ranging from AI enhanced smart space robotics, to innovative propellant-free propulsion technology for deep space exploration, to active space debris removal, to dynamics and control of spacecraft. He is the Principal Investigator of two Canadian CubeSat missions. Career total, Dr. Zhu has published over 350 journal and conference papers and attracted $15M+ from external funding agencies. Dr. Zhu is the College Member of the Royal Society of Canada; Academician of International Academy of Astronautics, Fellow of Canadian Academy of Canada, Fellow of Engineering Institute of Canada, Fellow of Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineering, Fellow of American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Associate Fellow of American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and senior Member of IEEE. He is the recipient of many prestigious awards including 2021 Robert W. Angus Medal by Canadian Society of Mechanical Engineering, 2019 PEO Engineering Medal in R&D by Professional Engineers Ontario, Canada. 



Prof. Zilong Zhao

Beihang University, China

Experience: Zi-Long Zhao obtained his doctoral degree in 2016 from Tsinghua University (China). Since 2021, he has been a full Professor at Beihang University (China). He is elected as a high-level young talent of China (2020), an ARC DECRA fellow (2019), an innovative and entrepreneurial talent of Jiangsu Province (2024), and a young top talent of Beihang University (2022). He is an expert of the Chinese Ministry of Education, the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Australian Research Council, and the Jiangsu Association of Science and Technology. He is an editorial advisory board member of Engineering Fracture Mechanics. His research interests include solid mechanics, biomechanics, structural topology optimization, and aircraft design. By 2025, he has published about 60 papers in internationally prestigious SCI journals. He is the general chair or co-chair of multiple international conferences such as ICoACE 2024, AITCE 2025, and ICAMME 2025.

Prof. Weishan Zhang

China University of Petroleum (East China) , China

Experience: Professor, Department of Intelligent Science, China University of Petroleum. Qingdao "talent Special Zone" the fourth batch of talents, the West coast New area top talent. Huangdao District "intelligent big data processing innovation talent team" leader, China University of Petroleum "oil big data processing" team leader. Founder and Director of West Coast Artificial Intelligence Technology Innovation Center. Chengyang District, Laoshan District/Chengyang District smart city construction expert, China Communications Society Cloud computing and Big Data committee, China Computer Society pervasive computing committee, Command and Control Society smart wearable technology committee. From 2007 to 2010, he worked as a Research Associate Professor/Senior Researcher at the Department of Computing at the University of Aarhus, Denmark (ranked 63rd in the world in 2009). Since August 2008, he has been the Technical lead of the EU Sixth Framework project Hydra iot Middleware at Aarhus University. From 2006 to 2007, he visited the Department of Systems and Computer Engineering of Carleton University, Canada (Carleton University ranks fifth among all universities in Canada in terms of influence on computers). 2001-2003 Postdoctoral research at the School of Computer Science, National University of Singapore. It has undertaken a number of vertical projects of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and Shandong Province, as well as a number of horizontal projects of Haier, the Second Aerospace Academy, State Grid, petrochina Exploration Institute, Shengli Oilfield, North China Oilfield, etc. It won the third prize of Qingdao Technology Invention (ranking first), the third prize of Huangdao District Natural Science Award (ranking first), and many other provincial and ministerial awards.
